Privacy Policy
Scorely scores short videos on your iPhone. This policy follows a clip from import to export and says exactly what stays on the phone and the one small thing that can leave it.
Effective 2 November 2026No account, no Scorely server
You do not sign up or log in. Scorely has no server of its own that receives your projects, and it contains no advertising, analytics or tracking software. We do not use the advertising identifier and do not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission. Scorely has no in-app purchases.
Bringing a clip in
You can pick a video with the system photo picker or film a new one with the camera (up to 60 seconds). The picker only gives Scorely the video you choose; Scorely does not ask for access to your whole photo library. A copy of the clip is stored inside the app, and its file name becomes the project title.
Reading the mood on the phone
After import, Scorely takes three small stills from your clip (at roughly 15, 45 and 75 percent of its length, no larger than 320 pixels) and saves them in the app. It then works out simple mood words such as warm, bright, cool or calm from the average colour of each still. This happens entirely on your device. Scorely does not detect or analyse faces.
Optional cloud mood analysis
If you tap Allow on the “Share frames for mood analysis?” screen, Scorely can ask DeepSeek, an AI service, to write a short score plan (tempo, energy arc and stem feel). Here is exactly what each request contains:
Requests go over HTTPS to api.deepseek.com and are handled under DeepSeek’s privacy policy. If you choose Not now, turn sharing off, or the service is unavailable, Scorely writes a local score suggestion on your phone instead. You can switch sharing off at any time in Scorely → Settings → AI data sharing; requests stop straight away.
Voice mood notes
In the coach sheet you can record a short voice note about the mood you want. The recording and the text hint you type are saved only inside Scorely on your phone. Scorely does not transcribe them and does not upload them anywhere.
Permissions Scorely asks for
| Camera | Only when you choose to film a clip to score. |
| Microphone | Only when you tap Record mood note. |
| Photos (add only) | Only when you tap Save to Photos, so the exported mix can be added to your library. Scorely cannot read your library with this permission. |
Saying no keeps the rest of the app working: you can type instead of recording, and import instead of filming. You can change each permission in iOS Settings.
What is kept on your phone
Inside the app’s private storage Scorely keeps your imported clips, frame stills, mood words, score plans and the choices you made on them (Use Score, Adjust mood, Skip music), generated tracks, exported mixes, voice mood notes, your AI sharing choice (also kept in the iOS Keychain) and where you were in the app. This data can be included in your own device backups. We cannot see it.
Removing your data
Deleting Scorely from your iPhone removes everything listed above. Mixes you saved to Photos stay in Photos until you delete them there. Scorely does not currently offer a button to delete a single project inside the app. Data already sent to DeepSeek is subject to DeepSeek’s own retention rules.
Children
Scorely is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Changes and contact
If Scorely starts handling data in a new way, we will update this page and the date above before the change ships. Questions or requests: moodcue.help@tempoloom.studio.
